About Me

I am a graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in integrative biology. With over four years of experience in journalism, communications, and copy editing, I create accessible and engaging stories about science and the environment.

Specialties

Journalism

At The Harvard Crimson (Harvard’s student-run newspaper), I pitched, wrote, and edited features, artist profiles, and reviews as a staff writer and associate editor for the Arts section. I have also written for The Harvard Gazette, BESIDE, and Mongabay as a freelance journalist. Check out some of my favorite stories.

Science Communication

The Hubbard Brook Research Foundation’s Young Voices of Science program and a semester-long narrative science journalism workshop with renowned science writer Michael Pollan have equipped me with effective methods for sharing complex scientific topics with various audiences. I’ve put these skills into practice as a science communication assistant at the National Park Service, a forest communications intern at the World Wildlife Fund, and the Smart Surfaces Coalition’s media and communications manager.

Proofreading & Copy Editing

At Foster Medical Editorial, Inc., I proofread content for major New York hospitals and often caught mistakes that went unnoticed in prior rounds of review by medical professionals and marketing staff. I also copy edited communications materials at the Smart Surfaces Coalition.

Public Engagement

With over four years of customer service experience, I have excellent interpersonal skills. I’ve maintained relationships with coworkers, customers, and outside vendors in a variety of roles, from barista to art museum ambassador. As a bird guide for the DC Bird Alliance, I lead community birding events with an emphasis on accessibility and inclusion.

Graphic Design

I used Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to design scavenger hunts for Green Cambridge’s Wildlife Arts Program, merchandise for First Village Coffee, as well as social media posts and one-pagers for the Smart Surfaces Coalition. Take a look at my designs.

Digital Accessibility

Everyone deserves to access electronic content with the same ease. To better format my communications for audiences with disabilities, I completed Harvard’s Digital Accessibility for Content Creators training in January 2023.
